Activities at the Ranch
Children staying at Skylight Respite Ranch will be involved in nearly every aspect of ranch life from animal care and gardening to cooking and cleaning.
Participants will help plant, weed, harvest, and best of all, eat the produce!
Who knew that chickens would become one of the favorite attractions at the ranch? It's fun to feed the chickens, and it's even more fun to collect the eggs. They don't always lay them in the nesting boxes, so it's like an Easter egg hunt every day!
Likey and Stormy are our goats. They are very friendly and love attention. During certain seasons our guests may even be able to help milk them.
Under the supervision of our equine specialist, visitors to the ranch may feed, groom, and ride the horses.
Having a bad day? There's nothing like a cuddly kitty to cheer you up!
Captain and Chester are our guard dogs. Captain is still a puppy, but he's not little anymore!
Usually we'll cook indoors in the kitchen, but sometimes we'll cook outdoors. The kids are always involved!
In the winter we all work together to collect firewood.
Skylight Respite Ranch sits on 80 acres of woods, meadows, croplands, and a lake. There are lots of places to go hiking and exploring.
